{"id":1692,"date":"2020-06-10T05:57:33","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T05:57:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.habilitas.ro\/?page_id=1692"},"modified":"2020-06-10T05:57:35","modified_gmt":"2020-06-10T05:57:35","slug":"super-lingo-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.habilitas.ro\/index.php\/en\/super-lingo-2\/","title":{"rendered":"SUPER LINGO"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE PROJECT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Super Lingo<\/strong> \u2013 \u2018<strong>Innovative foreign language program for cognitive training in high risk adults\u2019<\/strong> is an Erasmus+ project, funded by the European Commission, having the aim to create an online English-language learning tool. The program will consist of short, intensive language classes and are designed for healthy adults as well as those have reported Subjective Cognitive Decline (SCD), Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), and people with early stage dementia. The users of the tool will use the online games and role playing scenarios independently for a six-month period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Super Lingo describes a\nspecifically tailored, modern, online English-language learning project\nincorporating a set of interactive vocabulary games and role-playing scenarios\nfor continued practice. Learning new vocabulary helps retain memory. Role\nplaying is a commonly used language learning exercise which gives students a\nchance to activate their knowledge in a safe setting. This is a particularly\nrelevant methodology for our target audience of older adults who may have\ntransportation issues, auditory or other health problems, and who tend to\nprocess new information at a slower rate and so require more repetitions than\nprovided in traditional learning setting. The recorded relevant content can be\nlistened to as many times as needed. The games will be based\non memory practice such as memory card games, putting letters in the right\nplace, hangman etc. Moreover, the adult learners are able to continue\npracticing their newly learned language skills in a safe and convenient\nenvironment which will encourage long-term use and increase their cognitive\nreserve in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OBJECTIVES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Super Lingo project is\nintended to improve and extend the supply of high-quality learning\nopportunities which are tailored to the needs of people experiencing cognitive\ndecline and mild dementia. This will be assured by creating an innovative\nforeign language training program tailored for this target group. A team of\nlanguage, technology and dementia experts will work with our target population\non a continuous basis establishing feedback loops to design, test and refine\nthe training package<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Description of activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People with SCD, MCI and early\ndementia will be specifically involved mainly in the pilot testing of the\nonline memory and role play games developed within Super Lingo project and in\nthe final multiplier events. Healthy elderly adults with SCD, people with\ndementia, family carers, health care professionals and stakeholders will be\ninvolved in the final multiplier events.
