These numbers are expected to increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Serious games are a well known non\npharmaceutical practice for treating cognitive symptoms of dementia with Mild\nand Moderate Symptoms through stimulating cognitive abilities. Moreover it is\nproven that traditional games could have a positive impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bridge project aims to create games\ntreating cognitive and behavioral symptoms of dementia through various\nworkshops engaging younger and older people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THE CONSORTIUM INCLUDES:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PANELLINIA OMOSPONDIA NOSOU\nALZHEIMER KAI SINAFON DIATARACHON (Greece)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Project coordinator<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded in 2007, the Panhellenic\nFederation consists of 38 linked Associations of Alzheimer\u2019s disease all over\nGreece. lts\u2019 main objective is the coordination and cooperation of companies \u2013\nmembers in the context of social contribution and awareness of the patient\u2019s\nwith dementia and their caregivers\u2019 needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ANZIANI E NON SOLO SOCIET\u00c0\nCOOPERATIVA SOCIALE (Italy)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anziani e Non Solo is a NGO working\nsince 2004 in the field of social innovation, with a specific focus on\nmanagement of projects and realization of services and products in the field of\nwelfare and sociaI inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ASOCIATIA HABILITAS CENTRU DE\nRESURSE SI FORMARE PROFESIONALA (Romania)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HABILITAS Association was created\nin 2007 with the aim to contribute to the development of adult education.\nHabilitas delivers professional adult training and counselling services in\nsocial, psychological and educational projects and programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CHALLEDU (Greece)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Challedu- Play, learn, evolve\u2019 is\nan Educational Non Governmental and Non for Profit Organization with the aim of\ndeveloping and implementing game solutions in order to transform the learning\nexperience to a creative, interactive and holistic procedure and promote the\ninclusion in the society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN MACEDONIA\n(Greece)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The internationally research\noriented University of Western Macedonia is a socially committed institution\nwith 6 Departments, Postgraduate Programs and PHD Programs, a highly qualified\nacademic staff, extensive international links in both research and exchange\nprograms and a vibrant student community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABOUT THE PROJECT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project aims to create serious\ngames treatingcognitive and behavioral symptoms of dementia through various\nworkshops engaging younger and older people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through various steps, the project\nwill design, produce and test various serious games (physical, digital or\nphygital) targeting to people with dementia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By adopting a transnational\napproach in the project through the cooperation of organizations and institutes\nat european level, the consortium will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exchange knowledge and experiences\nfrom a variety of disciplines and institutions across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Build upon the efforts of local\ninstitutions to increase awareness about dementia in members ofgeneral public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Create and promote games to improve\ncognitive and behavioral symptoms of people with dementia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Create tailored content in games as\na result of the collaborative work between healthcare professionals, members of\ngeneral public, university students, and game-designers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contribute to multiplier effect at\nEuropean level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THE WORKSHOPS<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the workshops the selected\nyoung people will attend an informative training on dementia, in order to\nprepare them for interacting with people with dementia, symptoms of pathology.\nAfter that, they will participate in the game co-design process: they will\nco-design and play several games in collaboration with game-designers, software\ndevelopers, healthcare professionals, patients with dementia and caregivers.
